CASA of Imperial County Celebrates Luis Minor Honored at the 12th Annual Philanthropy Awards

CASA of Imperial County is proud to announce that one of its dedicated members, Luis Minor, was honored during the Imperial Valley Community Foundation's 12th Annual Philanthropy Day Awards Celebration on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Old Eucalyptus Schoolhouse.

"Being a part of CASA and serving the foster youth of Imperial County has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I am deeply honored to be recognized as a Distinguished Volunteer, but the real reward is seeing the positive impact we can make in the lives of these incredible kids," Minor said.

Luis Minor was recognized as a Distinguished Volunteer, a welldeserved honor highlighting his commitment to serving foster youth in Imperial County through his role at CASA. His tireless advocacy, compassion, and dedication to creating a brighter future for children in foster care embody the true spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism.

Philanthropy Day celebrates the diversity and impact of charitable efforts across the Imperial Valley. The evening brought together community leaders, organizations, and philanthropists who share a vision of hope and positive change. CASA of Imperial County also congratulates all the honorees and winners celebrated at the event, including:

  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Tom Topuzes
  • Philanthropists of the Year: Jim & Nancie Rhodes
  • Spirit of Philanthropy (Volunteer of the Year): Simon Canalez
  • Special Nonprofit Achievement: Humane Society of Imperial County
  • Philanthropic Corporation of the Year: Sun Community Federal Credit Union
  • Distinguished Philanthropists and Volunteers: Luis Minor, Haylee Cervantes, Norman Chandler, Mia Hernandez, Kris Kussman, Kimberly Maya, Pamela Ortega, Carter Taylor, Turning Point, Sharon Stegmuller, Sal Ortiz, Julie Reeves, Abraham Rubalcava, Sara Sanders, Ivonne Sotomayor-Santos, and Jessie Villanueva.
