CASA of Imperial County's Valentine's Firestorm Event, held on February 22, 2025, was a heartwarming success, bringing together 100 foster youth for an afternoon of fun, community, and celebration. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the BHE Renewables Foundation and the Imperial County Realtors Association, the event provided a much-needed opportunity for foster children to experience joy, connection, and encouragement.

Hosted at Firestorm Gymnastics in El Centro, the event featured action-packed activities, including games, crafts, and interactive experiences designed to bring smiles to the children in attendance. Adding a special touch to the event were special guests from the California Cinderella Scholarship Program, a prestigious youth development program that promotes confidence, leadership, and service. Titleholders from the program engaged with the foster youth, offering words of encouragement and participating in activities to inspire and uplift them.

"The Valentine's Firestorm Event was an incredible success, and we are beyond grateful to our sponsors and partners for making it happen," said Alex Cardenas, Executive Director of CASA of Imperial County. "Seeing these children light up with excitement and feel truly celebrated is what our mission is all about. Events like this remind our foster youth that they are valued, supported, and have a whole community rallying behind them."

The California Cinderella Scholarship Program is one of the nation's most respected youth development scholarship competitions, recognizing young individuals not only for their grace and poise but also for their intelligence, talent, and commitment to service. Participants in the program develop confidence, public speaking skills, and leadership qualities while engaging in community service efforts.

The Valentine's Firestorm Event is part of CASA' s ongoing efforts to provide advocacy, mentorship, and enriching experiences for foster youth in Imperial County. CASA of Imperial County is committed to ensuring that foster children receive the care, resources, and support they need to thrive.

CASA extends its deepest appreciation to the BHE Renewables Foundation, the Imperial County Realtors Association, and the California Cinderella Scholarship Program for their contributions, as well as to the dedicated volunteers who made the event possible.
